Nonprofit agencies awarded $200 mini-grants include: Berlin School District (Berlin), Liberty House (Manchester), Manchester Police Athletic League (Manchester), Strong Foundations Charter School (Pembroke), and The Children's Place and Parent Education Center (Concord). In addition, Austin17House (Brentwood) and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (Concord) each received grants of $150.
“While our corporate mission is to help New Hampshire families plan and pay for college, our 190 employees also take great pride in supporting fellow nonprofit agencies in the state to further their important work,” states Christiana Thornton, President & CEO of the Organizations. “We are proud to be part of such a giving and caring community.”
In addition to the awarding of mini-grants semi-annually, nearly 12,000 pounds of nonperishable food or supplies and $35,000 in monetary donations have been distributed to 80 nonprofit agencies statewide as part of this initiative. Employees have also volunteered a collective 2,800 hours as part of the program.
The NHHEAF Network Organizations are comprised of three active 501(c)(3) nonprofit agencies - New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation (NHHEAF), Granite State Management & Resources (GSM&R), and New Hampshire Higher Education Loan Corporation (NHHELCO).
